Responsibilities
As a SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER, GS-0083-8, you will supervise, establish and direct a planned, systematic approach of a quality assurance rogram designed to provide the maintenance managers confidence that aircraft, aircraft systems, products or supporting processes conform to technical, safety, work load and customer requirements. The position serves as the Supervisor of the Quality Assurance Division. In that capacity, the supervisor plans, implements, and executes a quality assurance program that includes independent surveillance and evaluations of all assigned aircraft, aircraft components, and maintenance personnel. Plans, directs, organizes, and exercises control over Quality Assurance Specialists (non-supervisory employees) assigned utilizing a comprehensive knowledge of aircraft to include electronic equipment and systems, manual and automatic flight controls, airframe, landing gear, pneudraulics, and jet engine propulsion, armament, munitions, and associated systems. Applies a comprehensive knowledge of employee relations, management techniques, peer mediation, root cause analysis, trending, and statistical methods. Base level of work supervised is at the GS-11 level.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS

. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE
: EAll GS-0083 series personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level and must have a minimum of one year on-the-job experience in the grade immediately below the next higher level. Understanding of the basic principles and concepts of military security forces functions, laws, policies, regulations, rules, procedures, and methods. Also, have general experience performing functions such as weapon systems and resource security, air base defense, law enforcement; and, if applicable for the position, experience in handling military working dog functions or combat arms functions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Has experiences in performing practical Security Force activities in direct support of the military weapon systems and physical security; law and order; and area security operations. The work experiences are in law enforcement, maintaining law and order, preserving the peace, and protecting life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of military installations. Has general experiences in protecting federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accident or willful damage and destruction. Experiences in securing crime and incident scenes; apprehending and detaining suspects; searches persons and property; and collects, seizes, and preserves evidence. Experienced in conducting interviews of witnesses and suspects and obtains statements and testifies in official judicial proceedings. Has work experiences in responding to disaster and relief operations and participates in contingencies. Develops plans, policies, procedures, and detailed instructions to implement Security Force programs. Is competent and experienced in maintaining accountability and ensuring security for weapons, ammunition, and explosives utilized in the course of instruction in accordance with applicable Air Force Instructions. Experienced in implementing ground weapons training programs. Experienced in the control and safeguarding of arms, ammunition, and equipment; and, instructs ground weapons qualification training. The tasks provides guidance on weapons placement to security forces and ground defense force commanders. Has experiences in inspecting ground weapons, replacing unserviceable parts, and analyzing malfunctions by inspections and serviceability testing. Has experiences in firing weapons for accuracy and serviceability. Understands how to control and operate firing ranges and associated facilities to include supervising construction and rehabilitation. Experienced in presenting courses on training material and instruction covering proper use of handguns, rifles, machine guns and other base defense/ground combat skills equipment, in accordance with approved lesson plans and course control documents. Experienced in weaponry, laws, directives, programs, policies, and procedures governing Security Forces activities; installation security; weapon system and resource security; anti-terrorism; law enforcement and investigations; military working dogs; air base defense; training; pass and registration; civilian work force; and combat arms.

No history of excessive alcohol use or been arrested in the past two years for two or more alcohol related incidents regardless of disposition, except when proven not guilty.
No more than one active wage garnishment for delinquency.
No more than two delinquent charge off/collection (>= 30 days) payments within last two years.
Within three years prior to entry into military service, not have been terminated from civilian employment more than twice for reasons of misconduct, theft, or alcohol use.
Must not have used, distributed, or manufactured illicit narcotics or been arrested for any narcotics use, distribution or manufacturing.
Have not sniffed or used a substance to obtain an altered consciousness state from aerosol spray, lighter fluid, petro chemical, adhesives, Freon, or any other chemical for a purpose not intended for use.
Qualification to bear firearms according to AFI 31-117, Arming and Use of Force by Air Force Personnel.
Never been convicted by a general, special, or summary courts-martial.
Never received nonjudicial punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) which resulted in either reduction or suspended reduction in grade, or correctional custody for offenses involving substantiated drug abuse as defined in AFI 44-121, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment (ADAPT) Program, acts of larceny, wrongful appropriation, robbery, burglary, housebreaking, misconduct in combat defined in UCMJ articles 99-106, or any act that harms or has the potential to harm the physical safety or well-being of animals to include Military Working Dogs.
Never been convicted by a civilian court of a Category One, Two, or Three offense, nor exceeded the accepted number of Category Four offenses. Category Three and Four traffic offenses alone are not disqualifying. NOTE: Categories of offenses are described and listed in AFI 36-2002, Regular Air Force and Special Category Accessions, Uniform Guide List of Typical Offenses.
