Vision: INL will change the world's energy future and secure our critical infrastructure.Responsibilities **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is seeking a Department Manager for the Special Response Team (SRT) and Training Organization.In this role you will be responsible for leading and managing the Protective Force Special Response Team (SRT) and Training Services organization of geographically dispersed staff. This requires considerable direct interface with bargaining unit personnel and leadership, labor relations, human resources, division director and Safeguards and Security Deputy Director and Director. You will serve as the interface between local law enforcement, federal law enforcement, military and government authorities. Ensures the chain of command is readily recognizable to protective force operations staff and that information is communicated up and down the chain of command. Your roles, responsibilities, accountabilities, and authorities in this position will include:- Serving as a key member of collective bargaining agreement (CBA) negotiating team. - Being responsible for hiring qualified staff and conducting performance appraisals. Also responsible for staff development, mentoring and coaching and for establishing individual performance goals aligned with strategic objectives of the Laboratory; for evaluating and directing actions associated with employee hiring, terminations, transfers, employee disciplinary actions, and salary actions; for ensuring the successful development of employee talent through the application of mentoring, rotational assignments, and succession planning efforts. - Committing and/or adjusting resources as necessary to complete work. - Providing oversight for the institution of tactics that employ up to date defensive strategies designed to address known adversarial capabilities.- Ensuring effective, safe protective force operations that address threats as identified in the Design Basis Threat (DBT). - You will have overall responsibility and accountability for development of organization budget, schedule and scope to ensure no under-runs or over-runs occur. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:BA/BS plus 5 years experience; or MS/MA plus 3 years' experience; or 13 years experience may be given in lieu of a degree. Preference will be given to those that have a BS/BA degree or are pursuing a BS/BA degree.Must have a minimum of 3 years of qualifying lead/supervisory experience in Pro Force, Law Enforcement, Military or a closely related profession.Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance and Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification.Must have knowledge of tactics, techniques and procedures as they apply to Protective Force operations.Strong working knowledge of DOE Orders is required.Experience with the vulnerability process is required.Budgeting experience is required.Working knowledge of Pro Force Conduct of Operations is required.Knowledge of federal law, DOE directives, and NRC requirements pertaining to protective force is required. Incumbent must display the highest level of integrity, ethics, and confidentiality.Must possess good communication skills both written and oral. Must be able to interface with all levels of management both internal and external to the laboratory.
