Job Description Summary: The Coord-EMS coordinates and develops programs with emergency medical services provider. Responsibilities: Acts as a liaison between hospital and EMS providers to increase volume of patients brought to emergency room. Oversees hospital training regarding emergency preparedness. Ensures plan meets federal, state and other regulatory requirements. Educates EMS providers of changes in pre-hospital standards of care they are required to deliver. Establishes quality review process for EMS run sheets and follows up with providers. Assists in the development of marketing and communication programs directed towards EMS providers to increase awareness of hospital's range of services. Gathers, maintains, and analyzes EMS data related to specific Provider Arrivals, Admits, and Transfers and quality measures. Performs other responsibilities as assigned. Participates in local, state, and national organizations related to trauma care and EMS services. Represents St. John Providence Health interests in a variety of areas. Primary responsibility for education and training of ED staff on NIMS, Hazmat, biological, chemical, and Disaster preparedness. Represents the ED on St. John Providence Health Environment of Care Committee and the Disaster Preparedness Committee and has primary responsibility for representing the ED involvement in disaster drills. Primary responsibility for representing St. John Providence Health ED on the MIHAN and responding to all MIHAN Alerts. Primary responsibility for the EMSystem program. Works closely with EMS Agencies as a resource of information and training. Qualifications Licenses\/Certifications\/Registration: Required Credential(s): Licensed\u00a0Paramedic\u00a0obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with the State of Michigan required.One or more of the following:Basic Life Support Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA. Education: Associate Degree\u00a0Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred Work Experience: 3 years of experience in a pre-hospital or emergency field such as an EMT-P or ER RN.
