Job Title:u00a0Assistant Professor u2013 Criminal Justice Sector:u00a0College of Liberal Arts Department: Justice & Society Studies JOB SUMMARY: The Department of Justice & Society Studies at Bethuneu2010Cookman University invite applications for a fullu2010time tenureu2010track Criminal Justice Assistant Professor Positions to support the undergraduate/graduate criminal justice program beginning August 2018. The area of specialization is open, although preference will be given to applicants with experience in research methods (quantitative & qualitative). Applicants will also be expected to assist in meeting the normal service needs of the department. Expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferable: community policing/police and society, international crime and justice, penal reform and/or restorative justice. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Excellence in teaching and a commitment to an active research agenda and service is required. The successful candidate will teach four (4) courses each semester. Online teaching experience is preferred, but is not required. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Qualifications include Ph.D. or ABD in Criminal Justice or Criminology. JD will be considered ENVIRONMENTAL/PHYSICAL CONDITIONS: u25cfWorking environment is a normal business office setting. Demands normal manual dexterity and visual and auditory acuity. Must be mobile throughout the campus. Typically, the incumbent may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items.
