Gettysburg College is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week) Community Service Officer I to work in the Department of Public Safety. This position provides tele-communicator duties within the department’s communications center, performing a variety of dispatching, switchboard, and administrative duties for the Department of Public Safety. This position additionally performs these other duties as assigned: special event officer, library security officer, asset protection and limited incident response duties, and other fixed post or special post assignments.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A background in safety and security principles and practices are a plus but not required. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities and a willingness to interact with both the general public and our diverse student population are essential. Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one is required.
