TITLE:

Uniform Security Shift Supervisor

SCHEDULE:

2nd Shift (Must have flexible availability & ability to fill in on all shifts)

40 hours/ week (full-time)

SCOPE:

Uniform Shift Supervisor is responsible for the overall security operations on the designated shift at the client location in support of the Uniform Site Supervisor. The Shift Supervisor will oversee all Security Officers on his/her designated shift.

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must work in a uniform, billable position 40 hours per week.

Guard posts – this may include building lobbies, reception areas, or outdoor guard shacks.

Must provide excellent customer service when dealing with Clients, Customers, Co-Workers, etc. and in turn, must follow and lead the site Security Officers through the DK Security G.I.F.T.S. program in all interactions with Clients, and Customers.

Must display the highest degree of professionalism and integrity on and off duty.

Direct, supervise, and manage subordinates in the execution of appropriate strategies, consistent with law, Client and Company policy, and accepted security standards that maintain a safe, secure and orderly decorum in support of the stated organizational mission.

Provide training for all assigned officers and ensure they are appropriately and thoroughly carrying out all duties outlined in the site’s post guidelines.

Responsible for the appearance, grooming and physical image of all uniform security employees assigned to the shift. All officers must be in proper uniform at all times. If officers arrive without proper uniform, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for documenting and following DK’s HR discipline policies.

Assist in maintaining updated post guidelines for the security operations of the site and meet with the operations manager and Site Manager annually to jointly review and update guidelines.

Maintain regular communication with the Site Supervisor, follow through with client requests and keep Site Supervisor and operations manager updated as to client communication.

Report problems with and request additional uniforms on behalf of line officers to the Site Supervisor and Operations Manager.

Assist with scheduling all security officer shifts 3 weeks in advance and without overtime (unless previously approved by operations manager.) Stay in compliance with the Affordable Health Care Act in regards to part-time employees. Determine if scheduling can accommodate time off requests and approve time off as appropriate.

Assist the Supervisor by accurately completing and submiting all payroll data within Company established timelines.

Work with the Site Supervisor to implement progressive disciplinary actions for subordinate violations of Company or Client Policy as necessary, in strict accordance with established company policy after consultation and direction from Human Resources. No employee will be disciplined, suspended or discharged without consultation and input from the Operations Manager and Human Resources (who will in return ensure all other appropriate parties are informed.)

Participate in completing objective, performance based, written appraisals of subordinates based on published Post Guidelines of subordinates within 14 days of their anniversary date (if applicable to the site location).

Assist the Supervisor with maintaining an inventory of and report problems associated with all DK owned equipment assigned to site.

Be available at all times to receive calls from subordinates with site questions while the officers are on duty and to handle scheduling issues (sick employees) and make necessary changes. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for filling all shifts with the assistance of the Site Supervisor and Operations Manager.

May provide first aid or other medical treatment in emergency situations.

Note: Security Personnel at the site will not smoke cigarettes, cigars, pipes or other smoking materials while on duty. Security Personnel at the site may only smoke during breaks, and then, only in designated areas.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

At time of application, no applicant will be considered if he/she is on an active disciplinary write-up.

All employees (including internal applicants) must successfully complete a drug screen.

Must be of good moral character, with no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for criminal sexual conduct or related offenses, theft, assault, or crimes of moral turpitude, is required.

Must have impeccable grooming.

Must possess above average customer service skills.

Must have a clean driving record.

Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice preferred.

2 years of experience as a uniform security officer preferred.

Must present a friendly, positive, professional image to Clients, employees, supervisors, managers, and the general public.

Experience with scheduling is preferred.

Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills and the ability to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner. These include the ability to read and write the English language and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions and reports.

Must have the ability to multi-task.

Must possess the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division as a minimum.

Must possess excellent computer skills; specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.

Must have a flexible schedule and reliable transportation.

Must have the ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and navigate stairs.

Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

The employee is required to hear conversations in noisy environments. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
