What you will do:
The Director of Threat and Security Risk Intelligence is responsible for strategic planning, development and execution of the comprehensive threat intelligence program. Additionally, the Director is charged with developing, implementing and executing the insider threat program. The Director is responsibility for assessing and recommending measurable defensive changes based on the threats facing Sterling National Bank. The Director will develop recommendations and drive measurable change in response to the intelligence analysis, risk exposure and threats identified by this function or associated partners. The Director of Threat and Security Risk Intelligence will work with senior management and departmental leaders to mitigate insider risks, identify, response to threats, in addition to driving the appropriate policy and procedural changes for Sterling.
The Director will exhibit ethical behavior and integrity in their everyday business conduct, and ensure success by fostering and maintaining effective partnerships with the law enforcement community, other financial institutions, regulatory agencies, peer groups and internal stakeholders.
As a direct report to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Director assists the CISO with strategic projects as necessary and is required to apply his or her subject matter expertise across a wide range of cyber and physical security principles. The Director must also remain current and proactive with related industry trends and best practices. Ultimately the Director ensures that processes and procedures are in place so to ensure that SNB is effectively prioritizing defensive measures against physical or cyber threats. Furthermore, the Director will work in partnership with other LOBs to take specific steps so that SNB can respond effectively and timely. The Director will also represent the bank at industry meetings, conferences and user forums.
Undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice or the equivalent, Law, or related fields, advanced degree preferred
7-10 years of experience working in LE, Risk, BCDR or Security related role
7-10 years of experience working or managing security, BCDR or LE
5 years of experience working in financial services (bank, broker/dealer, insurance)
5 years managing a team of professionals
5 years of experience interacting with executive and senior level management
Track record of complex problem solving
