About Corporate Security:
The primary responsibility of Corporate Security is to protect worker safety, prevent crime on SCE property, and mitigate risks of physical attacks to critical infrastructure. Physical security operations within Corporate Security covers contract security officer services, the Edison Security Operations Center (ESOC), investigation of security incidents and threats, intelligence-gathering, the SCE Badging Office, NERC Physical Security compliance, and background investigations and PRAs.
Position Overview:
This position will be in the Corporate Security Investigation Division within Southern California Edison (SCE). The successful candidate will conduct and participate in both external and internal field investigations with Company and governmental investigators to ensure the Company’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Typical Responsibilities:
Establishing or supporting protocols to ensure security programs and investigative services support all regulatory compliance requirements, such as those emanating from North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC-CIP) programs and others.
Evaluating the Company’s potential liability and performing risk analysis studies in order to determine appropriate Company actions to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies and to maintain maximum protection of Company assets.
Observing and documenting trends in types, causes, and consequences of incidences and making recommendations to the Corporate Security Management team regarding ways to prevent or mitigate consequences through proactive incident management.
Conducting in depth interviews and documenting findings into a Case Management System.
Leading critical, confidential, and time sensitive investigations of high profile incidences involving Company personnel and assets.
Conducting multiple investigations concurrently, making independent decisions, and providing direction through the conclusion of a case.
Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Ten years of Federal, State or Local law enforcement investigation experience.
Bachelor’s Degree
Must have a valid Driver’s License.
Experience with proactive incident management.
Experience conducting in depth interviews and documenting findings into a Case Management System.
Experience leading low to high profile multiple concurrent investigations.
Experience in investigative techniques and methods.
Experience analyzing information to determine issue, violation, cause, and corrective action.
Experience preparing concise investigation reports.
Ability to travel on foot and/or vehicle through difficult terrain.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Human Resources, Police Science, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
CPP or PCI and other security-related certificates.
Bilingual in another language.
Strong negotiation, conflict management, leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to work by themselves as well as being self-motivated.
Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
In depth knowledge of the utility industry.
Knowledge of the hydro and dam sector.
Experience conducting investigations in a corporate setting.
Comments
Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
The successful candidate may be required to respond to urgent requests for service during both evenings and weekends
The primary work location for this position is Tulare, CA; however, the successful candidate may also be asked to travel within the Northwest territory of SCE
This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties
