Responsibilities Manage the Office of Justice Services, Special Programs Division to include; the Indian national training academy program, Internal Affairs, Land Mobile Radio, Emergency Management and Indian Highway Safety Programs. Review and investigate complaints from inside or outside of the organization, as well as other law enforcement entities. Provide technical assistance and management oversight of the Indian Police Academy and law enforcement training facility requirements. Supervise law enforcement training and administrative staff. Develop and coordinate basic and advanced training programs and training programs that are contracted. Develop, review and analyze annual budgets and other data. Supervise the full range of investigations relating to Federal, State and Tribal criminal offenses. Qualifications GS-15: To qualify at the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level overseeing the management of a national law enforcement internal affairs program and a national law enforcement training academy program; reviewing and managing the investigation of complaints within an agency, outside an agency or other law enforcement entities; providing technical assistance to a police academy and\/or other law enforcement training facilities; supervising law enforcement training and administrative staff; and developing law enforcement training programs. MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS: The duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs, and feet must be sufficiently intact and functioning in order that applicants may perform the duties satisfactorily. Sufficiently good vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required to perform duties satisfactorily. Near vision, corrective lenses permitted, must be sufficient to read printed material the size of typewritten characters. Hearing loss, as measured by an audiometer, must not exceed 35 decibels at 1000, 2000, and 3000 Hz levels.
